We've all heard of the phrase "gatekeeper," but what does it actually mean? A gatekeeper is someone who limits the progress of others by enforcing rules of admission or advancement. In other words, a gatekeeper is someone who stands in the way of your dreams and tells you that you're not good enough.

Don't Be A Data Science Gatekeeper in 2023

I'm not a gatekeeper. I dislike gatekeepers. If you want something - go for it! I believe that everyone has the potential to be great at anything they set their mind to. All it takes is hard work and determination. Unfortunately, there are far too many gatekeepers in the data science world standing in the way of progress.

The Education System

One of the biggest examples of gatekeepers can be found in the education system. For years, the education system has been telling students that they're not good enough. They place kids into different "tracks" based on test scores and tell them that they're not smart enough to be in the top track. As a result, millions of kids grow up believing that they're not smart enough or talented enough to achieve their dreams.

The Media

The media is another prime example of gatekeepers. We're constantly bombarded with messages telling us that we're not thin enough, or pretty enough, or successful enough. These messages are designed to make us feel inferior so that we'll buy products that supposedly help us fix our "problems." In reality, these products don't do anything except line the pockets of the wealthy CEOs who create them.

At the end of the day, it's important to remember that you are in control of your own destiny. Don't let anyone else tell you what you can or can't do. You are capable of anything you set your mind to. So go out there and achieve your dreams! Screw the haters, and screw the gatekeepers!
